To OP: Be sure to properly combine your order next time. He can’t upload the same tracking number to each individual purchase. It’s 6 separate transactions so OP would need 6 different tracking numbers since the order wasn’t properly combined. The tracking number is simply the very same number for each item because they are all in one package.

The seller should be protected from an INR in this wrote:Īn INR would never work for a buyer because even if all items are packed together they each have a tracking number assigned and uploaded to eBay. While shipping all in one shipment may mean you save some money up front the potential monetary and item lost could be significant in the long run.Īn INR would never work for a buyer because even if all items are packed together they each have a tracking number assigned and uploaded to eBay. Since these items were purchased seperately, you should ship each individually, IT is your best bet to avoid an INR I'm presumming, you have factored in the FS cost into each item price. Or does it not matter as far as shipping TO the customer? I can't think of a scenario where it would matter if I shipped them together or separately. If I DO ship them all separately, what is the advantage? Obviously shipping cost is the disadvantage. Is there any potential pitfalls to shipping these all together? I.e., INR scams, etc.? Ebay protections? They were all purchased and paid for separately. I have a brand new ebayer (joined yesterday) that purchased 6 items from me. You only need SC on sales above $750, where it is required by eBay/PayPal in order to maintain your seller protection against an Item Not Received wrote: Incidentally, you don't need Signature Confirmation on a sale of less than $750 Delivery Confirmation is sufficient. I do combined shipments all the time, print my own label, add the tracking number to the additional items in that shipment, and have never encountered that particular error message before.

To the OP: did you print your shipping label on-line through eBay/PayPal, or did you buy it over the counter at the post office? If the latter, perhaps you cannot add a tracking number to a second shipped item once it's had an Acceptance scan and is now seen as in the possession of the carrier. I've never had to do anything like that when uploading the tracking numbers to additional items in a combined shipment. This tracking number is already associated with another active shipment.ĪNOTHER HOUR OF WASTED TIME ON THE PHONE WITH EBAY IM SURE.Īt first you need to combine all items into one single eBay order - so they are all grouped together as far as eBay is concerned. GREAT, i'm running into THIS now when trying to associate the tracking number with multiple orders: It would take some communications on your part to explain the process but it is possible. In your instance where they have several transactions it is still possible for them to use one return label for whatever items they want to return, since each item has a unique transaction number. You will find as you continue to sell that buyers will buy many items (lets just say 4 items) in the same transaction and perhaps only want to return one item for whatever reason and if you could not separate items in a multi item transaction then the buyer would need to return everything in the transaction regardless if they only wanted to return one of four items. I realize the customer has to return each item separately if they have an issue with the items (stupid pointless rule) but I wanted to make sure I wasn't opening myself up to some nonsense by shipping everything together. The total of all orders is just over $300 so I am using signature confirmation just to be safe. Shipping them all together via Priority (some of the orders requested Priority, some standard first class parcel, so that shouldn't be a bone of contention).
